Curious what level of reading your child is currently at

Is my kid a beginning reader

Beginning readers should already know their letter sounds, be confident blending short words, isolating beginning/middle/ending sounds, and using long and short vowel rules such as the “silent e” and “vowel teams” that make a vowel say its name.
A kid with these skills can read this line but probably cannot yet confidently read this phrase

Most K-1st grade students at this level make consistent progress with twohalf hour sessions weekly. Older students may benefit from additional time (one hour blocks usually suggested for students 2nd grade and older) to make faster progress or meet additional gaps before grasping these concepts.
