Most middle and high school students at this level make consistent progress with one hour sessions weekly. For students who are also meeting for math or other lessons, a separate hour is suggested for language and writing lessons because writing is best done as a thorough, thoughtful process rather than a tacked-on extra. It takes time to read and study excellent work and imitate it well. This process is worthwhile, but not often quick.
